My lecturer once said in reference to working life in the IT industry,
“There will be times when you sleep and do nothing and looking for projects… There will be times when you are working at a project back to back and you have to sacrifice the time. The key is management… management of your time… management of your health… management of your skills and most of all… managing to get it DONE.”
The past few days and nights have been mostly managing to get my assignment for Internet EC Programming (Web Applications and Services) done. It’s incomplete and I cannot be bothered with it anymore. The documentation has not yet been written to explain my work and other people’s ideas and concepts integrated into mine. Since in 30 minutes time I will be going through past year papers to make sure that I am starting on examination studies for next week’s exam. Did I just say next week?
Well just to show off a bit, I am going to load some print screen shots for everyone to see what I have been doing slaving all night and going crazy all this time for. And by the way… they are not normal web site pages… hahahah if it is I have failed miserably.
This is a prototype program / application that requests a service from another service that is in charge of stock quotes (you know like the stock market stock… Amazon, EBay, Walmart, etc etc etc).
Anyway you get prompted with this page first:

Then you have the second page below where you type in the information before clicking on the button “GET QUOTE”.

TA DAAAAAAAAAAA… after that it will direct you to the results page!! All this information is connected and alled from a stock quote web service. And all the information is then outputted to a file and certain fields are selected information that was required for me to print out to the screen. At the back end which I cannot be bothered to explain much has .xml files containing all this information.

Well there it is. Just have to write my documentation for it later. As for now, I will get back to the books and put my assignment on one side. WISH ME LUCK IN MY EXAMS!!
